Japan's Pokémon national championships wrapped at the Pacifico Yokohama convention center in Kanagawa Prefecture with winners in the Junior, Senior, and Master categories. Winning is a big a deal for game fans and guarantees a spot in the Pokémon Video Game World Championships in Boston in August.

Twitter handle Viera appears to belong to the Master class winner Shoma Honami. He shared an image of his winners' certificate on Twitter followed by a text message with the image he sent to his mom.
A screenshot of his mom's response shows that she wasn't that impressed. She sent an image of politely smiling rabbit with the follow-up text of, "Find a job."
Honami promised his fans that he'll work hard at finding employment.
Two-time U.S. national Pokémon champion Wolfe Glick attempted to fund a documentary that would follow the competitors of the Pokémon Video Game World Championships. The project, ultimately, was unsuccessful. The crew held a separate campaign to fund sending cameraman Dan Karlok to the U.S. nationals competition. That campaign succeeded.
