Jun Fukuyama's Jobs Include Dance Instructor in KFC Shorts

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

KFC Holdings Japan revealed the details on Thursday of voice actor Jun Fukuyama's (Black Butler, Assassination Classroom) appearance in the second part of the Kentucky Moshimo Gekijō (Kentucky What If Theater) "mini drama" series of live-action shorts. The first Kentucky Moshimo Gekijō - Moshimo Fukuyama Jun (Kentucky What If Theater - What If Jun Fukuyama) short will debut on the AbemaTV streaming service on Thursday.

The titles of the new three-minute episodes are "Jonetsu na Shakō Dance Kōshi" (Passionate Ballroom Dance Instructor), "Iitokodori no Danshi" (Guy Who Focuses on the Bright Side), "Tsutsumikomu Kareshi" (Wrapping-Up Boyfriend), "Joshiryoku Takame no Juku Kōshi" (High-Femininity Cram School Instructor), "Karakuchi na Jōshi" (Salty Boss), and "Tokubetsu-hen" (Special Edition). One new episode will stream every week until July 6.

Like in the first series of Yui Ogura episodes, Fukuyama will appear as a character interacting alone with the viewer. Each of the six episodes will again feature a different KFC menu item.

The shorts will run a prize campaign through the messaging and social media app LINE. After each new episode streams, a keyword will be revealed. People can use the keyword to enter for a chance to win 10 prizes including a signed photograph of Fukuyama (seen left).

The short's official website is currently streaming all seven of the episodes starring Ogura. The first episode (embedded below) premiered on April 13.

Other fast food chains to capitalize on the influence of pop culture include Arby's with its papercraft posts on social media, and McDonald's with its anime ads.
