Kenichi Suzumura, who voices Sokabe in the Ajin anime and the anime film Ajin: Shōgeki, is getting a cameo role in the upcoming live-action Ajin film, which will open in Japan on September 30. Suzumura will be playing the role of the TV announcer Noriaki Iwashimizu, who reports on the events happening in the film.

text Apparently, Suzumura was given the chance to act in the film because his younger brother, Masaki, is a member of the film's staff, working as an assistant director under Katsuyuki Motohiro. Of the role, Suzumura said, "Getting to appear in person, not just as a voice actor, in the live-action film for an animation that I performed in is something that I never even dreamed about."

Voice actor Mamoru Miyano, who voices the protagonist Kei Nagai in the Ajin anime, will also be part of the project, voicing Kei's IBM (Invisible Black Matter) and doing narration in the live-action film.

This will be the first time that Kenichi Suzumura and Takeru Satoh, who will be playing the role of Kei Nagai, have worked on the same project since Kamen Rider Den-O 10 years ago. Satoh played the Kamen Rider Den-O protagonist Ryotaro Nogami, while Suzumura voiced the Imagin Ryutaros, a performance for which he won the Synergy Award at the 2nd annual Seiyu Awards, along with Toshihiko Seki, Kōji Yusa, and Masaki Terasoma.

Suzumura also won Best Supporting Actor at the 10th annual Seiyu Awards in 2016 for his roles as Iyami in Mr. Osomatsu and Abe no Hirari in Laughing Under the Clouds. His other roles have included Lavi in D.Gray-man, Rogue Cheney in Fairy Tail, Sōgo Okita in Gintama, Shinn Asuka in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, Atsushi Murasakibara in Kuroko's Basketball, Hikaru Hitachiin in Ouran High School Host Club, and many more.
