New Images Reveal Real-Life Devilman Crybaby Sports Car

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The official DEVILMAN crybaby Mitsuoka Orochi sports car is cool enough for Ryo Asuka. The car company revealed new images on Sunday of the previously teased concept car as well as a few more details.

Thus far, Mitsuoka Motors is only planning to create one "Devilman Orochi" and the company has brought on DEVILMAN crybaby art designer Takahisa Atsuji and Orochi car designer Takanori Aoki to work on the project.

Mitsuoka Motors will announce more about the project, including how to buy the one of a kind car, this fall. The collaboration seems to be born from Ryo's 2006 Orochi that the character drives in the DEVILMAN crybaby anime series. The anime is a new adaptation of Gō Nagai's classic manga originally released in the 1970s.

In the story, Akira Fudo learns from his best friend, Ryo Asuka, that an ancient race of demons has returned to take back the world from humans. Ryo tells Akira that the only way to defeat the demons is to incorporate their supernatural powers, and suggests that he unite with a demon himself. Akira succeeds in transforming into Devilman, who possesses both the powers of a demon and the soul of a human.

The 10-episode anime series premiered exclusively on Netflix in January.
