Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo Anime Gets Exhibition in October

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Gonzo marked its 25th anniversary with an exhibition this past summer. The event featured many of the studio's most popular titles such as Samurai 7, Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo, Last Exile, and Romeo × Juliet. Now, one of those titles is getting an exhibition of its own.

The Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo television anime will get an exhibition at ACG_Labo in Harajuku, Tokyo from October 12-25. Character designs, art boards, storyboards, scene photographs, and more will be on display. The free event will also offer special merchandise.

The anime series, known for its unique aesthetic, premiered in 2004. The anime's story adapts Alexandre Dumas' classic novel The Count of Monte Cristo. Mahiro Maeda (Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, Blue Submarine No. 6) planned the anime, provided the original character designs, and directed the series.
