New Book on Anime

posted on
Gilles Poitras's new book on Anime has been been published by Stonebridge Press and is now available.

Excerpted from Press release:

ANIME ESSENTIALS: EVERY THING A FAN NEEDS TO KNOW
http://www.stonebridge.com/ANIMEESSEN/animeessentials.html
by Gilles Poitras. $14.95. The "prequel" to Gilles's first and anime-
zing ANIME COMPANION. In his new book, Gilles has created a handbook
for faithful fans and aspiring wannabes (and their parents and
teachers, who wonder what the heck those kids are looking at). Gilles
offers a very brief overview of anime history and then looks at all
the things that occupy fan attention these days, from sub and dub
controversies to attending conventions and buying cool anime stuff at
great prices. Beginners will especially appreciate Gilles's list of
"top 41" (why 41 I wonder?) anime. See these films and you are on
your way to otakudom. As this book has just been released, you won't
find it in too many places before Christmas except a couple specialty
stores in the SF Bay Area - and of course from us!

Gilles Poitras will be making the following appearances to publicize the book
