Live-Action Dragonball Film Casts Bulma, Mai, Yamcha

Mystic River's Rossum, Heroes' Tamura, G.O.D.'s Park join film

The Hollywood Reporter and The Daily Variety media industry newspapers revealed that actress Emmy Rossum (film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, Poseidon film remake, Mystic River, The Day After Tomorrow), actress Eriko Tamura (Heroes), and former G.O.D. Korean singer Joon Park (Speed Racer) have signed onto the cast of Twentieth Century Fox's live-action film adaptation of Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball shōnen fighting manga. Rossum will play the female lead Bulma, while Tamura will play one of the antagonists, Mai. Park will play the anti-hero Yamcha. The three will join Justin Chatwin (Son Goku), James Marsters (Piccolo), and Jamie Chung (Chi Chi). The film is slated to open on August 15, 2008.
