Aqua Age, Tsubomi's Yabuuchi to Launch Hatsukoi Shinan

posted on by Egan Loo
Romance comedy manga to start in Japan's ChuChu magazine on April 4

Yū Yabuuchi, the creator of the Aqua Age school slice-of-life manga and the Naisho no Tsubomi "sex education" manga, is starting a shōjo manga called Hatsukoi Shinan (Instructions for First Love) in the May issue (on sale on April 4) in Shogakukan's ChuChu magazine. The story follows a girl named Nao who want to become a shōjo manga artist and a boy named Kento who is (in)famous for being a player. Nao finds Kento a little annoying, but she thinks she needs to both experience love and boost her manga skills to become a good shōjo manga artist. However, all she knows about either falling in love or drawing manga is what she read in books.

Both Aqua Age and Naisho no Tsubomi have been adapted into anime, but none of Yabuuchi's works have been released in North America yet. Natsumi Kawahara, an artist who has previously done one-shot manga in ChuChu and its sister magazines, will also start a new manga series called Oyayubi no Himegoto.
