Book on Miyazaki's Spirited Away Ships in Britain, USA (Updated)

Author Andrew Osmond has written a book on Hayao Miyazaki's Oscar-winning Spirited Away anime film that Palgrave Macmillan has already published in Great Britain earlier this month and will ship in the United States on August 19. Spirited Away recounts the journey of a modern girl who travels to a surreal world tinged with Japanese mythology. In Spirited Away: BFI Film Classics, Osmond details the filmmaking process of Hayao Miyazaki on the 2002 work and how it relates to his previous films and the themes that he expounds. The British Film Institute book includes quotes from Miyazaki and his colleagues and over 60 color images.
Osmond also wrote Satoshi Kon: The Illusionist, a book that profiles the acclaimed director of Perfect Blue, Paprika, and Paranoia Agent. Stone Bridge Press in California is publishing this book in the fall. British editor and writer Helen McCarthy wrote a book called Hayao Miyazaki: Master of Japanese Animation about Miyazaki's works before Spirited Away. Miyazaki's latest film, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, opened in Japan late last month.
