Aoi Hitomi no Onna no Ko, Kowarekake Promos Streamed

Shin-Ei Animation's official website has begun streaming a trailer for its August television special, Aoi Hitomi no Onna no Ko no Ohanashi (The Story of the Blue-Eyed Girl). The story is set in a remote mountainous village in the southern Japanese prefecture of Kōchi during World War II. Eiko, an elementary schoolgirl with blue eyes from her American father, transfers to this village, and her classmates make no attempt to rein in their bullying. Only Eiko's homeroom teacher Akiko and a boy named Kenta treat her without disdain or hostility. The children's lives change as the injured father of one of Kenta's classmates returns from the battlefield and news of more casualties arrives in the village. The television special, the eighth in Shin-Ei's Sensō Dōwa (wartime fable) series, will premiere on the TV Asahi station in the Tokyo area on August 13.
ElectromagneticWave, the dōjin (self-published) brand of the popular illustrator POP, has posted a 194-second animation sample for its Kowarekake no Orgel (Kowarekake no Orugōru or Half-Broken Music Box) original anime project on Wednesday. Two shorter animation samples were posted earlier on ElectromagneticWave's website. The story centers on a musician who goes to one unsuccessful audition after another. One day, he meets a mysterious girl who ends up living with him. POP illustrated the Moetan English-teaching guides for otaku that later became a television anime series.
ElectromagneticWave was not able to finish the full 30-minute video in time, but it will stream an introductory piece of the video and distribute a second music video ("This Side One Stop ver.," pictured at left) at the Comic Market 76 dōjin convention on August 16.
