Natsuhiko Kyōgoku's Tōfu Kozō in 2011 Golden Week; Mitsudomoe Zōryōchū! in January

Warner Bros. Pictures Japan's official website for the Tōfu Kozō ("Tofu Boy") anime film has begun streaming the film's second teaser trailer. The 3D computer-animated film adapts the Tōfu Kozō Sugoroku-dōchū Furidashi novel by Natsuhiko Kyōgoku (Loups-Garous, Mōryō no Hako, Requiem from the Darkness). According to traditional Japanese folklore, a boyish spirit waits along country roads and tricks travelers into eating a piece of deadly tofu. In Kyogoku's retelling, Tōfu Kozō is a spirit in search of his own identity; he wanders the countryside to discover the reason and meaning for his existence. The diminutive spirit embarks on a series of thrilling adventures and encounters many other supernatural denizens.

The second teaser confirms that actress Kyōko Fukada will voice the title character. The film will open in Japanese theaters in traditional 2D and stereoscopic 3D during next spring's Golden Week holidays.

The official website for the Mitsudomoe television anime began streaming a second commercial for the second season on Wednesday. (The "Gekiban" commercial contains no actual animated footage.) The site also confirmed that the second season's title is Mitsudomoe Zōryōchū!

Norio Sakurai's original gag comedy manga centers around the comedic misadventures of the Marui triplets of sisters in elementary school. Animator Satoshi Kubo revealed the plans for a second season in August, and the 10th manga volume confirmed that the new eight-episode season will premiere next January.
