We Were There's Obata to Launch New Manga in November

posted on by Egan Loo
Yuuki Obata's 2nd series after Bokura ga Ita to run in Shogakukan's Betsucomi magazine

We Were There (Bokura ga Ita) manga creator Yuuki Obata will launch a new series in the December issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Betsucomi magazine on November 13. The new manga was revealed on Obata's essay page in the October issue on Thursday, and more details will be provided in the November issue on October 13.

Obata just ended We Were There in Monthly Betsucomi in February. That manga inspired a television anime series from the anime studio Artland in 2006, and Takahiro Miki's two-part live-action adaptation played in theaters this past spring. Viz Media, publisher of the manga in North America since 2008, will print the 15th compiled volume in November.

Obata launched another manga, the irregularly published Forget-me-not manga about a girl surviving a suicide attempt, in Shueisha's Cookie magazine in July.
