Mermaid comedy anime based on Keiji Nashima's manga to premiere on April 6

The BS11 television channel aired a commercial for the upcoming anime adaptation of Keiji Nashima's Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san manga on Wednesday.

The comedy story centers around Muromi-san (played by Yukari Tamura), a mermaid who happens to speak with a Hakata accent. She is suddenly caught by Takurō Mukōjima (Takahiro Mizushima), a boy in his high school's fishing club. The show also stars Hitomi Harada as Fuji-san, Kanako Sakai as Harpy, Ai Nonaka as Hii-chan, and Chiwa Saito as Yeti.

Tatsuya Yoshihara (Aruvu Rezuru - Kikai Jikake no Yōsei-tachi, Princess Resurrection Unit Director) is directing the series at Tatsunoko Production (C – Control – The Money and Soul of Possibility, Sket Dance). Kikuko Sadakata (Princess Resurrection, Shikabane Hime: Kuro, Mayo elle Otokonoko) is handling the character designs and is serving as chief animation director, and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Ben-To, scripts on Bleach, Monster, NANA) is serving as series script supervisor.

The television anime will air on late-night slots from April 6 on TOKYO MX, MBS, tvk, TV Aichi, TVQ, and BS11.
