Danganronpa Blu-ray/DVD Expands Finale by 14 Minutes

Danganronpa The Animation scenario supervisor Kazutaka Kodaka noted on Wednesday that the final episode is being extended from 21 to 35 minutes for the DVD and Blu-ray release. Kodaka added the longer version surprised him with an "entirely different impression" than its broadcast counterpart. (He just recorded the audio commentary for the episode.)
The seventh and final Blu-ray/DVD volume will ship in Japan on February 26.
The final episode aired in September with an image (pictured right) of the Super Danganronpa 2: Sayonara Zetsubō Gakuen game character Monomi. Voice actress Megumi Ogata (Makoto Naegi) asked her followers to buy more Danganronpa Blu-ray Discs and DVDs for a chance at an anime adaptation of the Super Danganronpa 2: Sayonara Zetsubō Gakuen game.
