Aldnoah.Zero Robot Anime's 3rd Ad Outlines Space War

posted on by Egan Loo
Traditional sci-fi show by Fate/Zero writer & director to premiere in July

The official website for the Aldnoah.Zero television anime by writer Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero, Psycho-Pass, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet) began streaming the third commercial on Sunday.

The video features the following dialogue:

1999: The Bars Empire finally declares war on the Earth Alliance. During the fierce fighting, the hypergate went out of control, devastating the moon. It's been 15 years since then. Aldnoah.Zero.

The website had announced on Saturday that the pop trio Kalafina will perform the opening theme song "Heavenly blue," while the series' composer Hiroyuki Sawano will perform the ending theme song.

The second commercial debuted last month with the following narration:

Even though that time will surely come, I don't even have the time to prepare myself for it.
At that moment, what kind of regret will I have?
But I can't bear it to just patiently wait.

The first commercial outlined the premise of the story: In 1972, a hypergate was discovered on the surface of the moon, and humanity began migrating to Mars and settling there. However, eventually the seeds of war were sown.

The main cast for the July anime includes:

Natsuki Hanae as Inaho Kaizuka
He is anything but passionate, and he operates on logic, rather than emotions.

Kenshō Ono as Slaine Troyard
His family were relative newcomers among those who migrated from Earth to Mars.

Sora Amamiya as Asseylum Vers Allushia
She is a pacifist who carries the aura of a princess.

Fate/Zero director Ei Aoki (Ga-Rei: Zero, The Garden of Sinners, Wandering Son) is directing the project at A-1 Pictures and TROYCA. Katsuhiko Takayama is in charge of the series scripts. Manga artist Takako Shimura (Wandering Son, Sweet Blue Flowers) provided the original character designs, which Atsuko Matsumoto is adapting for the anime. I-IV and Kenji Teraoka are designing the mecha, and Hiroyuki Sawano is scoring the music.

The series will premiere this July.
