Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V to Debut Internationally in Spring/Summer 2015

5th main Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series premiered in Japan in April with new main lead

Konami's media distributor 4K Media confirmed with ANN that Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, the fifth main Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series inspired by Kazuki Takahashi's original manga, will debut internationally next spring or summer. The series premiered in Japan this past April, and it features Yūya Sakaki, a new protagonist played by Kenshō Ono.

The story is set in Maiami City on the coast of Japan. Yūya is a second-year middle school student who loves to entertain people. Although he is small, he has been training his tough body and Action Duelist arms with weapons. His dream is to become an "Entertainment Duelist" who makes people smile. One day, Yūya ends up fighting an exhibition match with the current champion of Pro Duel world…

Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V was preceded by Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monster GX, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal. (The very first Yu-Gi-Oh! television anime from Toei Animation and TV Asahi in 1998 is often not grouped with the others, and the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal II sequel is combined with the first Zexal series.)

4K Media announced on Tuesday that a new Yu-Gi-Oh! movie is also in development in Japan. Konami has been airing Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal II on The CW's Vortexx programming block in the United States since last August.
