Adelaide hosts Supanova Pop Culture Expo this Weekend

Supanova starts it's final tour for 2014 this Friday evening at the Adelaide Showgrounds in South Australia. Special guests include Trina Nishimura, Bryce Papenbrook and Greg Cipes.

Details

  • Where: Adelaide Showgrounds, Goodwood Road, Wayville, SA.
  • When: Friday the 21st to Sunday the 23rd of November.
  • Cost: Weekend passes start from $47.50 online and $55 at the door. Daily tickets from $27.50 online or $30 at the door.

Guests

There are guest signings available at various times over the weekend, if you would like to find out when the guests are taking photos and signing please check out the event programme.

Trina Nishimura

Known as the voice of Mari Illustrious Makinami in (most recently) Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo and Mikasa Ackerman in the newly released dub of Attack on Titan, that's barely scratching the surface of Trina's work. You can find Trina voicing such roles as Kurisu Makise (Steins;Gate), Lingshen Chao (Negima!), Mii Konori (A Certain Scientific Railgun), Lan Fan (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), Akira Takano (School Rumble), Sohara Mitsuki (Heaven's Lost Property), Shigure Kosaka (KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple) and Kaaya (The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk).

Trina will be signing between 10:30am to 5:30pm on Saturday and 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday. Trina will also be co-hosting Attack on Titan panels with Bryce on Friday night at 7:30pm, Saturday morning at 11:20am and Sunday afternoon at 2:20pm in the Cosplay Theatre.

Bryce Papenbrook

Bryce Papenbrook is a one of a kind voice actor, he's not only a highly skilled martial artist, web developer and the son of anime voice actors Debbie Rothstein and the late Bob Papenbrook. He has went on to carve out his own niche as lead characters in many video games and anime. Bryce has recently voiced Kirito in Sword Art Online and Red in Pokémon Origins but you would have heard him as Rin Okumura in Blue Exorcist and Masaomi Kida from Durarara!!. He's also the voice of Makoto Naegi in the upcoming English release of PSVita game Dangan Ronpa and he's the voice of lead protagonist Tiz Arrior in the Nintendo 3DS game Bravely Default. Bryce has also done some voice acting under the pseudonym "Dick Smallberries Jr.".

Bryce will be signing between 10:30am to 5:30pm on Saturday and 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday. Bruce will also be co-hosting Attack on Titan panels with Trina on Friday night at 7:30pm, Saturday morning at 11:20am and Sunday afternoon at 2:20pm in the Cosplay Theatre.

Greg Cipes

Greg Cipes is a multi-talented voice actor who has exactly one anime VA role, Atlas in the 2003 Astro Boy series. However he's also the voice of Beast Boy in the cartoon series Teen Titans and DC Universe Online, Keven Levin in Ben 10 Alien Force, Ultimate Alien and Omniverse, Iron Fist in Ultimate Spider Man and is the voice of Michaelangelo in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Most recently Greg has returned at the voice of Beast Boy for new cartoon series Teen Titans Go!

Greg will be signing between 10:30am to 5:30pm on Saturday and 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday. Greg will be holding his own questions and songs session from 7:40pm in the Cosplay Theatre on Friday night followed by a panel on Saturday at 1:50pm and Sunday at 11:00am in the Supanova Seminars room

  • Saturday

    • 10:30am - Anime Trivia sponsored by Anime at Abbotsford - Cosplay Theatre.
    • 11:40am - Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods - Anime Theatre.
    • 1:00pm - Hanabee LIVE! with Gus Sorola and Jordan Cwierz - Cosplay Theatre.
    • 4:20pm - Supanova Cosplay Competition - Cosplay Theatre.
  • Sunday

    • 11:00am - Madman Panel followed by special screening event - Anime Theatre.
    • 4:00pm - Supanova Cosplay Competition and Kamehameha Blast Off! - Cosplay Theatre

And we will be following Hanabee and Madman over the weekend and reporting on any new acquisitions over facebook and twitter (Remember all times are AEST).
