Series set in Hokkaido follows beautiful woman who loves bones

Author Shiori Ōta and illustrator Tetsuo's mystery light novel series Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru (A Corpse is Buried Under Sakurako's Feet.) is getting an anime adaptation. A teaser website for the series notes that planning is underway for the adaptation, but the website does not specify what type of anime it will be.

The novel series revolves around Shōtarō Tatewaki and Sakurako Kujyō. Shōtarō is a normal high school student with a serious demeanor. Sakurako is an extraordinarily beautiful woman in her mid-20s from a rich family who loves "beautiful bones." The two live in the city of Asahikawa in Hokkaido, and they get involved in various incidents regarding bones.

Ōta and Tetsuo debuted the series in 2013, and Kadokawa will publish the seventh novel on Wednesday. The series currently has more than 600,000 copies in print.

The official website and Twitter account will reveal staff, cast, and other information about the upcoming anime at a later date.

The light novel series has already inspired an online radio drama that starred Yūki Kaji as Shōtarō and Ami Koshimizu as Sakurako.
