Madman Acquisitions from Supanova Expo Sydney 2015

On Sunday the 21st of June 2015 during Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Sydney, Madman Entertainment announced the following seven titles during their panel;
- Blade Dance of Elementalers
- Dramatical Murder
- Hamatora

Blade Dance of Elementalers
Areishia Spirit Academy is the top training academy for Elementalists, where the pure maidens of noble families are educated on how to contract and command the spirits from Astral Zero, the world of spirits. However the first exception in 1000 years has appeared, Kamito Kazehaya, the only male with this ability. When Kamito stumbles upon fellow student Claire Rouge while she was conducting a purification ritual, Kamito's peeping causes the resulting summon to go horribly wrong and he ends up with one of the most powerful spirits possible.
Based on Yū Shimizu's original "elemental fantasy" Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance novels, Blade Dance of Elementalers is a 12 episode adaptation directed by Tetsuya Yanagisawa (High School DxD, Destiny of the Shrine Maiden) at studio TNK (School Days, High School DxD). Takao Yoshioka (WATAMOTE, Senran Kagura) handled series composition and Maki Fujii (07-Ghost, Destiny of the Shrine Maiden) adapted Hanpen Sakura's original character designs.
Crunchyroll streamed this Summer 2014 title as it aired in Japan and Sentai Filmworks will release the series to home video at some point in the future.

Dramatical Murder
Aoba enjoys living a quiet life with his grandmother on Midorijima, a small island to the southwest of Japan, spending his days working part time at a junk shop and avoiding the major pastime of the island, the online game called "Rhyme". When Aoba is pulled into playing Rhyme he is forced to uncover the mysterious events occurring on the island.
Based on the 2012 Nitro+CHiRAL boys-love visual novel of the same name, DRAMAtical Murder is the 2014, 12 episode anime adaptation. Kazuya Miura (animation director or unit director on Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa, Silent Möbius, Kindaichi Shounen no Jiken) directed the anime at the studio NAZ. Touko Machida (Allison & Lillia, The IDOLM@STER, Hamatora, Karneval, Lucky Star) and the game's Kabura Fuchii (togainu no chi) of Nitroplus were in charge of the series scripts. Yukiko Ban (Brave10, .hack//SIGN, Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi) adapted the original character designs by honyalala of Nitroplus for animation. Yuuki Hayashi (Blood Lad, Diabolik Lovers, Gundam Build Fighters, Robotics;Notes, Soul Eater Not!) composed the music and the rock band GOATBED contributed the opening theme song "Slip on the Pumps" after working on the game.
Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan and when the series was released on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan it included a OVA episode "Data_xx_Transitory" covering the bad endings of the game.

Hamatora
"Minimum" (otherwise known as "small miracles") is a special power that only manifests within a few, select humans who become known as "Minimum Holders". In Yokohama two Minimum Holders named Nice and Murasaki run the detective agency Hamatora from a table in their favourite spot, Cafe Nowhere. When a case lands on their table involving a serial killer that their friend on the police force is looking for, Nice and Murasaki will soon have their hands full dealing with a mystery involving the fate of Minimum Holders everywhere.
Hamatora is a mixed media project that started in November 2013 with a manga of the same title in Young Jump by writer Yukinori Kitajima (428 ~Fūsa Sareta Shibuya de~, Senran Kagura, Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney) and artist Yūki Kodama (Blood Lad). The manga is a prequel to the anime, concluded after a year and has been collected into three volumes by Shueisha.
The anime was a collaboration between chief director Seiji Kishi (Danganronpa, Persona 4 The Animation, Angel Beats!) and Kitajima who returned to handle project composition. Touko Machida (The IDOLM@STER) and Jun Kumagai (Persona 4 scripts) was in charge of the anime series scripts while Fantasista Utamaro handled color art direction. Makoto Yoshimori (Durarara!!) scored the music at DIVE II Entertainment. Yū Wazu adapted Kodama's designs at studio NAZ (Take Your Way, assistance on Danganronpa and Devil Survivor 2). Hiroshi Kimura (Haitai Nanafa, Recorder and Randsell) directed the series and livetune featuring Yūki Ozaki (from Galileo Galilei) performed the opening theme song "Flat."
The series premiered in January 2014, ran for 12 episodes and was streamed by Crunchyroll into several countries as it aired in Japan. The series was followed by a sequel, Re:␣Hamatora in July 2014 that ran for another 24 episodes. In March 2015 a film adapting both series and a additional anime series starring super-deformed versions of the characters has been green-lit.
Since the Hamatora multimedia project was announced in 2013 it also spawned two stage plays and a Nintendo 3DS game by FuRyu titled "Hamatora: Look at Smoking World".
Hanayamata
Naru is a entirely ordinary high-school girl, ordinary in looks, brains, arts and athletics with no real interests apart from fairy tale heroines. However Naru's life begins to change after a chance encounter with a "fairy", Hana, a foreign girl dancing in the moonlight. Suddenly Naru becomes inspired and asks to join Hana and so starts Naru learning Yosakoi, the traditional form of Japanese group dancing.
Hanayamata is adapted from Sō Hamayumiba's seinen manga of the same name, published by Houbunsha in Manga Time Kiara Forward since June 2011 the series has been collected into six volumes.
Atsuko Ishizuka (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, No Game, No Life) directed the anime at the studio MADHOUSE. Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Girls und Panzer, Tamako Market) wrote and supervised the scripts and Atsuko Watanabe (GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class, Juden Chan, The Everyday Tales of a Cat God) designed the characters. The creator group MONACA composed the music and DIVE II Entertainment produced the music.
Hanayamata premiered on TV Tokyo in early July 2014 and ran for 12 episodes, the series was streamed on Crunchroll at the time. The series has also inspired a PS Vita rhythm game under the title "Hanayamata Yosakoi LIVE!" which was released in November 2014.
Kofuku Graffiti
After Ryō Machiko's Grandmother passed away she started to live by herself, but despite her exceptional cooking skills Ryō cannot manage to get the same great taste from her Grandmother's recipes. When fellow high-schooler Kirin begins to visit her home, Ryō realises that the missing ingredient is good company and starts to share her Grandmother's delicious food with friends and family.
"Happy Cooking Graffiti" is the original title of Makoto Kawai's four-panel comic strip manga. The series began serialisation in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Miracle! magazine in March 2012 and since then has been collected into four volumes.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Monogatari series director Akiyuki Shinbo helmed Kofuku Graffiti as chief director at Shaft, and Naoyuki Tatsuwa (Nisekoi, Katteni Kaizō) directed the adaptation. Mari Okada (Selector Infected Wixoss, AKB0048) handled series composition, Kazuya Shiotsuki (Nisekoi chief animation director, Madoka Magica animation director) designed the characters, Toshiki Kameyama served as sound director and Flying Dog was in charge of music. Maaya Sakamoto performed the opening theme song "Shiawase Nitsuite Watashi ga Shitteiru Itsutsu no Hōhō" (The five techniques I know for happiness) and Rina Satou and Asuka Ōgame perform the ending theme "Egao ni Naru" (Put on a smile) as their characters Ryō and Kirin.
The series premiered in January 2015 and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series in North America at the same time.
Wizard Barristers
In the near-future of 2018 wizards and humans live side-by-side in Tokyo. Police continue to protect society but in terms of magical cases, the wizards (known as Wud) are handled according to the Magic Prohibition Law in the Court for Magic by Wizard Barristers. 17 year-old Cecil Sudo has just become the youngest wizard barrister and today is her first day of work for the Butterfly Law Offices, but Cecil hasn't realised that she has the magical potential to become one of the greatest wizard barristers of all time.
Yasuomi Umetsu (Kite, Galilei Donna), credited as the show's original creator, directed the series and handled the series composition at the studio ARMS (Elfen Lied, Kite, Queen's Blade: Rebellion). Michiko Itou (HENNEKO, il sole penetra le illusioni ~ Day Break Illusion) wrote the scripts. Tatsuya Tomaru and Katsumi Matsuda served as chief animation directors and Kayo Konishi and Yukio Kondoo (MOKA☆) handled the music. Additionally Rui Tanabe performed the ending theme song "Blue Topaz."
Originally running from January 2014, Wizard Barristers aired 12 episodes that were streamed on Crunchyroll and licensed on Sentai Filmworks.
Wolf Girl & Black Prince
Erika Shinohara spends her time telling her friends about her romantic exploits but in reality Erika hasn't really had a boyfriend in her 16 years. When Erika is put to task she shows her friends a photo of a guy she randomly met in town claiming that the handsome boy is her boyfriend. But it turns out that the boy is Erika's newly transferred classmate, Kyōya Sata, and while he might look sweet Kyōya is anything but. Given the opportunity Kyōya's true nature as a ultra-black-hearted sadist comes to the fore as he starts to blackmail Erika and treat her as his dog.
Based on Ayuko Hatta's original Wolf Girl & Black Prince (Ōkami Shōjo to Kuro Ōji) shōjo manga, this adaptation is directed by Kenichi Kasai at TYO Animations from scripts by Sawako Hirabayashi with series composition by Sawako Hirabayashi. Maki Fujioka designed the characters and Go Sakabe composed the soundtrack for the series. The series ran for 12 episodes back in October 2014 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll. Sentai Filmworks has licensed Wolf Girl & Black Prince in North America.
