Novel to ship on September 11 in Japan

Nitroplus announced on Tuesday that it will publish a novel titled Rakuen Tsuihō 2.0: Rakuen Zangyō -Godspeed You-.

The story is a sequel to the Expelled from Paradise (Rakuen Tsuihō) anime film. [Warning: The summary contain spoilers for the film. Please highlight the white space to read.] Three boys and girls who were living in DEVA are bestowed material bodies and assigned to dangerous work in space. There, they meet a copy of Frontier Setter created to support the Genesis Ark. With the help of the copy, they aim to go into space. But the powers that be on DEVA plan to stop them: they create a copy of Angela Balzac as she appeared in DEVA before going to Earth, and send her to destroy the copy of Frontier Setter.

The novel is slated to ship on September 11, but Nitroplus will also sell copies in advance at Comiket 88 from August 14-16. The pre-order period is from July 10-21.

The special edition of the novel, bundling two mini clear files with a special illustration (pictured below) and the cover illustration, will retail for 1,620 yen (about US$13).

The film debuted in theaters in Japan in November, and won the Best Animation of the Year Award at the 24th Japan Movie Critics Awards in May. Aniplex of America had released Expelled from Paradise in 15 theaters across the United States in December.

Aniplex of America released the film on Blu-ray in North, Central, and South America in June. The film is available streaming on Netflix.
