The official website for the anime of mixi's Monster Strike mobile action role-playing game began streaming an English-subtitled promotional video for the anime on Tuesday. The video reveals that the anime will premiere worldwide in the anime's official YouTube channel on October 10.

The first episode will have a length of around seven minutes. The anime will be available in multiple languages, including Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean. The anime will premiere on October 10, and will stream a new episode every Saturday after that.

Kōki Kimura will serve as the project's chief director in XFlag Studios, while Youhei Suzuki is credited as the project manager. Relatively new director Kazuya Ichikawa will helm the anime, while Jirō Ishii (CANAAN) is handling the story and project composition. Yoichi Kato (Yo-kai Watch, Aikatsu!) is supervising and writing the scripts. Tatsurō Iwamoto (Ace Attorney games) drew the original character designs, while Masayuki Kondō drew the monster designs. Nao Hirasawa is credited as producer. Hiroshi Miyazaki is credited for animation production. Studio Hibari and Ultra Super Pictures are producing the anime.

The cast includes Yūsuke Kobayashi as Ren Homura and Jun Fukushima as Oragon, the franchise's mascot character. Voice actress Lynn will also voice an as-yet unnamed character in the show.

Hiroki Morita, the president of the social networking service mixi, had announced the anime for "broadcast" in Japan this year. However Kimura announced on Tuesday that the anime will not be on television, but on YouTube. He explained that they considered this the best way to present the anime for everyone to see.

The company released Monster Strike on iOS and Android devices in Japan in 2013, and has since launched an English version on iTunes and Google Play. A Nintendo 3DS version of the game is in development for release this year. The company describes the game:

Slingshot monsters and watch as they bounce around like pinballs, destroying enemies in their wake. Play with up to three other friends in this co-op action RPG. Become a master and collect over 1,000 unique and powerful monsters — staking your claim as the best Striker around!
