2nd Wake Up, Girls! Film's Song, Date, Visual Unveiled

The official website for the two-film sequel to the Wake Up, Girls! television anime posted the opening date and a key visual for the second film. The second film — Wake Up, Girls! Beyond the Bottom — will open on December 11.
The website announced that the second film's theme song, "Beyond the Bottom," will go on sale on December 9. The single will also include "Chikatetsu Labyrinth" (Subway Labyrinth), a song that debuted at the "Wake Up, Girls! Girls! 2nd Live Tour ~Ittari Kitari Shite Gomen ne!" this past summer. I-1club Team S's new single "Unmei no Megami Team S ver." (Goddess of Fate) will go on sale on November 11 with the second song "Little Challenger 2015 Team S ver." I-1club Team M will have an equivalent single for their versions of the songs on November 11 as well.
The first sequel film, Wake Up, Girls! Seishun no Kage (Shadow of Youth), opened on Friday. The seven main voice actresses appeared in stage greetings at the Forum Sendai and MOVIX Sendai theaters in Sendai, the same city that inspired the anime's setting.
The films feature the return of the TV anime's staff, with Yutaka Yamamoto directing the film at his studio Ordet. Touko Machida is writing the scripts, and Sunao Chikaoka is serving as both the character designer and animation director. Satoru Kousaki from MONACA is composing the music, and DIVE II Entertainment is producing the sound. The cast of the seven main girls is also returning to reprise their roles.
In the story of the original anime and film, Green Leaves Entertainment is a tiny production company on the verge of going out of business in Sendai, the biggest city in Japan's northeastern Tohoku region. The agency once managed the careers of magicians, photo idols, fortune-tellers, and other entertainers, but its last remaining client finally quit. The television anime and first film premiered in Japan in January 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the series outside of Japan alongside the Chinese media services Tudou and Youku.
