Locodol's 2nd OVA is Christmas Special That Will Air on December 24

The staff of Locodol, the anime adaptation of Kōtarō Kosugi's Futsū no Joshikōsei ga Locodol Yattemita four-panel manga, announced at an event on Sunday that the anime's second video anime project is a Christmas special. The anime will also air on Christmas Eve before it ships on home video.
The special will air on TBS late at night on December 24, and then will air on CS-TBS Channel 2 on December 25 at 1:30 a.m., and then on BS-TBS on December 26 at 1:30 a.m. Miku Itō (who plays Nanako) and Sachika Misawa (Yukari) will perform a new opening theme. The staff will announce the artist for the new ending theme at a later date.
The staff will also host an "all-nighter" event at Cinemart Shinjuku in Tokyo on December 24, which will show select episodes and the OVA. Ito and Misawa will attend the event.
The new OVA was originally announced in June as a sequel to the TV anime series.
In the original manga's story, high school girl Nanako became her town's local idol at the request of her uncle. She and her upperclassman Yukari, a girl who seems perfect but ends up being airheaded, both become idols of their provincial area. They get interviewed (by the town's shopping center), go on television (low-budget cable), and hold concerts (on the roof of the department store). The girls' salaries come from the town's taxes.
The four-panel series inspired the 12-episode Locodol television anime series that premiered in July 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. The franchise's first OVA episode was bundled with the first Blu-ray Disc and DVD volume in Japan in September 2014, and Crunchyroll streamed the OVA in December.
Sentai Filmworks will release the TV anime series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on January 19, and retailer Right Stuf lists that the release will include 13 episodes.
Kosugi began serializing the manga in Ichijinsha's Manga 4-Koma Palette magazine in 2011, and Ichijinsha published the fourth volume on July 22.
