Rez Infinite, Ace Combat 7 Announced for PS4 With PlayStation VR

Both games announced at Saturday's PlayStation Experience event

Sony announced at its PlayStation Experience event on Saturday that Bandai Namco Entertainment is developing the Ace Combat 7 flight simulation action game for the PlayStation 4 with PlayStation VR support.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America also began streaming an English trailer for the game on Saturday. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe is streaming the same trailer and is also streaming the trailer with German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, and French subtitles.

Namco released the first Ace Combat game in 1992. The last numbered title, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation shipped for the Xbox 360 in 2007. Bandai Namco Games released Ace Combat Infinity as the first free-to-play Ace Combat game for the PlayStation 3 in May 2014. The most recent game in the series, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy Plus, shipped for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan in January and in February in North America and Europe.

Sony additionally announced at the event that Enhance Games is making Rez Infinite for the PlayStation 4, also with PlayStation VR support. Gamespot is streaming the demo that was shown at the event.

Tetsuya Mizuguchi, president and CEO of Enhance Games, posted more about the upcoming game on the PlayStation Blog on Saturday.

The game can be played with or without PlayStation VR, and it will run in 1080p at 60 frames per second, or 120 frames per second in PlayStation VR mode. The game will also feature full 3D audio.

Mizuguchi is also showing off a Synesthesia Suit at PlayStation Experience. The suit, of which only one exists, is an "ultimate version" of the Trance Vibrator that Sega released as a peripheral with the original game in 2001.

Mizuguchi and Sega created the original Rez game for the PlayStation 2 and Dreamcast in 2001. Mizuguchi's Q Entertainment company then released an HD version of the original game on the XBox Live Arcade in 2008. Mizuguchi, Q Entertainment, and Ubisoft then released the Child of Eden sequel game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011.
