Sekai Project Adds PS Vita Port as Backer Reward for Root Double Kickstarter

Video game localizer and publisher Sekai Project announced on Sunday in an update to its Kickstarter campaign to localize and release Regista/Yeti and Takumi Nakazawa's Root Double: Before Crime * After Days: Xtend Edition visual novel that it has approval to release the game on PlayStation Vita.
The PS Vita port will not be released at the same time as the PC game if the project is funded because it will take "at least a year" to finish. As in Japan, the port will only be available digitally due to the size limitations of the PS Vita's memory.
The port will only be available for backers pledging US$225 and up. Sekai Project explained that the high price tier for the PS Vita edition is in lieu of setting a stretch goal of US$500,000 or more that might not be met, so everyone who pledges for the PS Vita edition will receive it if the project meets its original goal.
Sekai Project also began streaming a 28-minute gameplay preview.
The Kickstarter launched on January 5, and aims to raise US$135,000 by February 5. As of press time, the project has raised US$80,836. Backer rewards include the game's original soundtrack, posters, tapestries, shikishi (autograph boards), blankets, and signed copies of the game. The project's stretch goals include a fan book and drama CDs.
Sekai Project is aiming for a tentative PC release date of March 2016.
