.hack Smartphone Game Guilty Dragon Ends Service

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced on Friday that it will end service for its smartphone game Guilty Dragon: Tsumiryū to Yattsu no Noroi (Guilty Dragon: The Sin Dragon and the Eight Curses) on March 23. The game is part of its .hack franchise.
The RPG takes place in a large-scale world where players can meet others and acquire equipment in their adventure to uncover the mystery of the "Tsumiryū" (Sin Dragon). CyberConnect2 developed the game and LieN performed the theme song.
The free-to-play smartphone game launched in October 2012, so the game's service will have been active for about three years and five months. Sale of the in game currency "coins" will halt on February 22.
CyberConnect2 had plans to release the game in Europe and America, but never released the game outside of Japan.
Bandai Namco Entertainment launched a new ".hack-inspired smartphone game titled New World on January 8. Series protagonist Kite appears in the game.
