posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Convention will be held on March 26-27

Regional television channel Animax Asia announced on Saturday that it will hold this year's Animax Carnival Malaysia convention at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre Hall 2 and 3 on March 26-27 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. Animax Asia also announced details on the musical guest performances and activities for the convention. The convention's musical guests include angela, GARNiDELiA, and Nagi Yanagi.

angela is comprised of keyboardist and guitarist Katsu and vocalist Atsuko. The group debuted in 1999 with their single "memories," which was used as the opening theme song for the Shin Hakkenden anime. They became more well known after their 2003 single "Asu e no brilliant road," which was used as the opening theme song for Stellvia, for which they also performed three ending themes. The group has since released 26 singles and seven studio albums. The group has performed theme songs for such anime as Corpse Princess, Asura Cryin', Fafner EXODUS, and K: Return of Kings. The duo will have a fan meeting at the convention on March 26, and will perform on March 27.

GARNiDELiA is comprised of Mai Mizuhashi (Maria) and Yoshinori Abe (Toku). The duo first worked together on "Color," the opening theme song of the Freezing anime, although they had not yet made the GARNiDELiA unit name at that point. The duo formally debuted in 2014 with their single "Ambiguous," which was used as the opening theme for the Kill la Kill anime. The group has since released six singles, two albums, and two mini-albums, and has performed theme songs for such anime as The irregular at magic high school, Gundam: Reconguista in G, and Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation. GARNiDELiA will perform at the convention on March 26, and will have a fan meeting on March 27.

Nagi Yanagi began by posting song covers online in 2005, and released self-produced music under the name CorLeonis in 2006, releasing four albums this way. She began posting cover songs on Nico Nico Video in 2007. Yanagi collaborated with supercell songwriter Ryo on the song "Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari," which was used as the ending theme to the Bakemonogatari anime. She also served as supercell's vocalist from 2009 to 2011. Yanagi released her solo debut single "Vidro Moyō" in 2012. She has since released 15 singles, seven albums, and collaborates often with other singers, artists, and composers, such as Jun Maeda and Shinji Orito. She has performed theme songs for such anime as A Lull in the Sea, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Jormungand, and Seraph of the End: Battle in Nagoya. She made her voice acting debut in Idea Factory and Otomate's Norn9 2013 game, and reprised her role from the game in the recent anime adaptation of the game, which premiered in January. She will have a fan meeting at the convention on March 26, and will perform on March 27.

The Animax Carnival Malaysia event will host the annual Animax Cosplay Competition on March 26 at 1:00 p.m. The event will also hold an "animation studio" event, where participants can vote on scenes, characters, and props to include on the next animated sketch for OO-Kun, the company's mascot.
