Kiss Him, Not Me Anime's Visual Previews Character Designs

Kazuhiko Tamura drew characters for anime based on Junko's romantic comedy manga

The staff of the television anime adaptation of Junko's Kiss Him, Not Me (Watashi ga Motete Dōsunda) manga unveiled a visual for the anime on Friday. The visual shows the anime's character designs, drawn by animation character designer Kazuhiko Tamura.

Junko posted a sketch of the manga's characters on her official Twitter account on Thursday to commemorate the anime's announcement.

In addition, the April issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine will contain art from the manga on the cover and on a color page inside. The manga's eighth volume, which shipped on Friday, also notes the anime announcement (see gallery below).

Hiroshi Ishiodori (Peach Girl, Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino) will direct the anime at Brains Base. Michiko Yokote (Shirobako, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Dagashi Kashi) is in charge of series composition. Kazuhiko Tamura (Gunparade Orchestra, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ~Next Season~, Kyōkai no Rinne) is designing the characters for animation. Mina Ōsawa (Actually, I Am…, Nurse Witch Komugi R) is the chief animation director.

A drama CD of the manga included with the manga's fifth Japanese volume had the following cast:

Crunchyroll is releasing chapters of the manga in North America as Kodansha publishes them in Japan, and it describes the story:

Kae Serinuma is what you'd call a "fujoshi." When she sees boys getting along with each other, she loves to indulge in wild fantasies! One day her favorite anime character dies and the shock causes her to lose a ton of weight. Then four hot guys at school ask her out, but that isn't exciting to her at all — she'd rather see them date each other!

Junko began the manga in Bessatsu Friend 2013. Kodansha USA is publishing the series in North America, and it released the third volume on February 2.
