M&C! Licenses The Perfect Rose, The Lion Who Wants to Die Manga

Both manga slated for release on April 20

Indonesian publisher M&C! announced on Tuesday that it has licensed Natsumi Ouchi's The Perfect Rose, and Hirotaka Kisaragi's The Lion Who Wants to Die (Shinitagari no Shishi - Yamakawa Ōkura Bakumatsu Ibun) manga. Both manga are slated for an April 20 release.

The Perfect Rose centers on Nobara Hina, the daughter of a well-off family. She is a public morals committee member at her school Matsubase Private Academy. Nobara is plain and serious, but everything changes when four handsome delinquent students appear at school one day. Though they were incredibly cool, they were also of poor behavior, and they try to manipulate Nobara for their own ends.

Ōuchi (Anata e no Tsuki, Aozora Pop) launched the manga in Shueisha's Ribon magazine in 2011, and ended it in 2012. Shueisha published three compiled book volumes for the series.

The Lion Who Wants to Die is based on the historical figure Yamakawa Hiroshi, also known as Yamakawa Ōkura, a samurai and general of the bakumatsu period when Japan industrialized and transformed in the mid-19th century. In the Bōshin War that ushered in the Meiji Restoration, Yamakawa fought on the Imperial side, working to overthrow the Tokugawa shogunate to restore the emperor to power. Even so, shinsengumi captain Saitō Hajime called him a friend, and even his enemies wrote and spoke of him favorably.

Kisaragi (BROTHER×BROTHER, Blood+ Kowloon Nights) launched the manga in Kadokawa's Samurai A magazine in 2013, and ended it in the same year. Kadokawa published the manga's one compiled book volume in October 2013.
