Garo: Divine Flame Anime Film's Story Revealed

80-minute film follows León, the new Garo who trains a Makai Knight

Tohokushinsha Film Corporation revealed the story for Garo: Divine Flame, the first Garo anime film, at the AnimeJapan event at Tokyo Big Sight on Friday. The company also revealed that the film will be 80 minutes long.

Tohokushinsha Film Corporation describes the story:

León, who has succeeded the name of Golden Knight "GARO" devotes himself to train a young Makai Knight for the next generation, together with Prince Alfonso of the Valiante Kingdom. Then, they receive an order to exterminate the most beautiful Horror in the world which resides in a neighboring country "Vazelia".

At the same time, a young Makai Knight for the next generation is kidnapped by an unknown person.

León desperately follows them, only to find that he is surrounded by his enemies at a dead end. Then, a Makai Knight Dario who was supposed to be missing for some time suddenly appears and rescues him.

Under his guidance, León is led to the town where he meets up a totally unexpected person!

In the visual pictured above right, the tagline reads, "This fight, who is it for…." The visual features the main character León Luís as well as the new character Dario.

The film is a sequel set four years after Honō no Kokuin, the first Garo the Animation television series. Director Yuichiro Hayashi, head writer Yasuko Kobayashi, and the anime studio MAPPA are reuniting after working on the first Garo the Animation television series. The film's second teaser video debuted in February.

Tohokushinsha Film Corporation also revealed more information on Friday about one of the two new live-action series in the Garo franchise. The omnibus television series Garo -Makai Retsuden- will have 13 episodes, with each episode being 30 minutes long. The series will reunite the cast members of previous works and will premiere on April 8 on TV Tokyo.The Zerō television series will be a television series version of the Zerō -Black Blood- films that opened in March 2014. Ray Fujita will reprise his starring role this year.
