KLab, Broccoli entered business partnership in January

Game developer KLab (Love Live! School idol festival) announced on Wednesday that it is co-developing a smartphone game alongside game and character goods company Broccoli for the Uta no Prince Sama franchise titled Uta no Prince Sama♪ Shining Live.

The game will be a rhythm game, and it will be available on both iOS and Android devices. KLab will release more information about the game and its release date at a later date.

KLab and Broccoli entered a business partnership in January.

The Uta no Prince Sama franchise began as a romance visual novel series by Broccoli and Nippon Ichi Software, with the first game in the series released on the PlayStation Portable in 2010. Broccoli released Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ MUSIC 3, the latest game in the series, on the PlayStation Vita in January 2015.

The game series has already inspired three television anime seasons. The third season of the Uta no Prince Sama anime, Utano☆Princesama Revolutions, ended in June 2015. A fourth season titled Uta no Prince-sama Maji LOVE Legend Star will premiere this October.

KLab is best known for developing the popular Love Live! School idol festival game app for smartphones. As of March 22, this game from the Love Live! franchise has garnered over 15 million users in Japan and over 25 million users worldwide.

Although KLab released an English press release announcing Uta no Prince Sama♪ Shining Live, the company has not yet confirmed if the game will have an English release.

Update: Updated user numbers for Love Live! School idol festival. Thanks, Ejc.
