Arslan Anime's 3rd Corporate Warrior Short Deals With a Spy

TV anime characters return as Pars office workers before season 2's July debut

The official website of The Heroic Legend of Arslan television anime series began streaming the third "Kigyō Senshi Arslan" (Corporate Warrior Arslan) anime short on Saturday. The shorts reimagine the television anime's main characters as "corporate warriors" in modern society.

The episode begins with Kharlan sending an email to Hilmes with the subject "This month's secrets from the Pars Corporation." After closing his laptop, Arslan bursts into the office to say that he overheard his father saying that a spy is within the company. Narsus says that he also has heard a similar rumor about company secrets being leaked on the Internet. When asked about where he heard it from, he says that he saw it on an aggregator site, to which his friends comment is a very open place to find such information. When Arslan asks Narsus what they should do, he insists that they should find the culprit before the problem gets any bigger, with Arslan as the detective on the case. He also says that the culprit should be hanged immediately when found.

As a first step in the investigation, Narsus suggests that they should pick out anyone suspicious. When Arslan asks Falangis if she thinks anyone is suspicious, she says that Gieve is. Gieve scolds Arslan for not even doubting her accusation, and insists that he wouldn't have any benefit of being a spy. Although Narsus suggests that maybe he was put up to the task by a beautiful woman from another company, he says that he only has eyes for Falangis. She says, "That's the most annoying thing ever."

Moving away from Gieve, Narsus says that anyone in the company could be the culprit. After accusing everyone, Arslan finally moves to suspect Kharlan, Gieve says that it's not cool to suspect anyone just because they're a little bit suspicious, and Falangis quips that Gieve is not just a "little" suspicious.

Although Daryun defends him, Arslan's trusty hawk decides the culprit for him, although his choice of Kharlan might be because he didn't like his mustache. Kharlan faints out of stress, and Daryun goes to call a doctor. Arslan says to call an ambulance instead. While Kharlan is at the hospital, the office members comment that he is getting a lot of "get well" gifts from a rival company.

Hiromu Arakawa launched The Heroic Legend of Arslan manga in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2013. The manga adapts Yoshiki Tanaka's novel series of the same name. Kodansha will publish the manga's sixth volume in December. Kodansha Comics published the fifth volume earlier this month. Crunchyroll is also releasing the manga as it is published in Japan.

The television anime adaptation of Arakawa's manga premiered in April 2015 and ran for 25 episodes. Funimation streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. A second season of the anime titled Arslan Senki: Fūjin Ranbu (The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Dust Storm Dance) will premiere in July.
