posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The official website for the anime adaptation of 5pb. Games and MAGES.' Science Adventure game Chaos;Child revealed on Monday that the anime will be a television anime that will premiere in January. The website also revealed that Masato Jinbo (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei!, Shomin Sample, Nozo × Kimi) is directing the anime and is also handling series composition.

In the psycho-suspense story, after a magnitude-7.8 earthquake hits Tokyo's Shibuya ward on November 6, 2009, a black fire spreads and causes mass panic on the day of the earthquake. The sudden disaster that becomes known as the "Shibuya Earthquake" kills 3,851 people and injures 30,927 more.

The game is set in a reconstructed Shibuya district in October 2015. A string of mysterious deaths occurs in Shibuya amidst the reconstruction. People begin to take notice as the strange events start on the same day that chaos broke out in Shibuya with a certain incident five years earlier. The events are called the "Return of the New Generation Madness."

SILVER LINK is animating the series, which will star:

All three are returning from the game's cast.

The game is 5pb. and MAGES' fourth science-adventure title, after Chaos;HEAd, Steins;Gate, and Robotics;Notes.

Chaos;Child first debuted on the Xbox One in 2014. That first version allowed players to hear in-game phone calls via the controller, but the versions on other platforms changed this and other features. MAGES. and 5pb. Games shipped ports for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita in Japan last June with a Z (18+) age rating. The game's PC port launched in Japan in April.

Illustrator relucy is working on a manga adaptation of the game.
