Sentai Filmworks Licenses Green Legend Ran OVA Series

Section23 Films announced in its February release slate on Thursday that it has licensed the OVA Green Legend Ran and plans to release it on DVD on February 21, 2017. The release will include both Japanese and English audio.
The series consists of three 45-minute episodes that debuted from 1992-1993 on VHS and Laserdisc. Pioneer released the OVA in the United States in 1994, and released a DVD of the series in 1998.
Sentai Filmworks describes the story:
The objects fell from the sky, swallowing most of Earth's water, vegetation and animal life. Now, while the remnants of humanity struggle to survive in a world of endless deserts, the followers of the alien Rodo rule from enclaves that control the little water that is left. However, not everyone is willing to bow to the Rodo and their disciples, and resistance groups like Hazzard continue to fight back. Seeking revenge against the man who killed his mother, a young man named Ran sets out to join Hazzard, but fate intervenes and he finds himself in the middle of a battle between the two sides. Hoping to rescue a beautiful silver-haired girl named Aira, Ran will ultimately take on an even greater mission: to learn the shocking secrets that both Hazzard and the Rodoists have been hiding from the world.
Sentai Filmworks will also release Young Black Jack, Comet Lucifer, Utano☆Princesama Revolutions, and Amagi Brilliant Park on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in February. Amagi Brilliant Park will have an English dub and will also be available in a Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo pack. Sentai Filmworks will also release Busou Shinki on Blu-ray Disc.
