Yuyushiki Special OVA Ships on February 22 With Returning Cast, Staff

The January 2017 issue of Gakken's Megami Magazine revealed the returning cast, returning staff, and February 22 release date for the new special original video anime (OVA) episode based on Komata Mikami's four-panel manga Yuyushiki on Wednesday.
Kaori (episode director on Code:Breaker, .hack//Quantum) returns to direct the anime at Kinema Citrus. Natsuko Takahashi (Moyashimon, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0) similarly returns for series composition. The anime will get a DVD release on February 22.
The returning cast includes:
- Rumi Ookubo as Yuzuko Nonohara
- Minami Tsuda as Yui Ichii
- Risa Taneda as Yukari Hinata
- Yui Horie as Yoriko Matsumoto
- Ai Kayano as Chiho Aikawa
- Megumi Han as Kei Okano
- Mana Shimizu as Fumi Hasegawa
This is voice actress Risa Taneda first announced role since she announced she would go on hiatus from voice acting last August to focus on treatment for an unspecified illness.
The manga already inspired a television anime with the same cast and main staff in 2013. Crunchyroll streamed the television anime into several countries as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks released the anime on home video in North America.
Mikami launched the manga in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara magazine in 2008, and the eighth compiled book volume shipped on June 27.
