Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches Manga to End in 5 Chapters

Weekly Shōnen Magazine had teased "important announcement" for manga on January 25

The cover of this year's eighth issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine has revealed that Miki Yoshikawa's Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches manga will end in five chapters. Amazon Japan is currently previewing the cover image. The issue itself ships on January 25. The cover also reveals that the manga is getting an artbook and a special edition.

This year's seventh issue had teased on Wednesday that the eighth issue would have an "important announcement" for the manga, and also hinted that an "extra-large project" will be announced in the eighth issue.

Yoshikawa launched the manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2012, and Kodansha published the manga's 26th volume (pictured at right) on December 16. Kodansha will publish the manga's 27th volume on February 17.

The story begins when high school boy Yamada bumps into the beautiful female honor student Shiraishi on the stairs, and their lips touch as they fall. When they regain their wits, they realize that they have swapped bodies. As time progresses, the two realize that this is not the only mysterious happening in the school.

Crunchyroll is releasing manga chapters online overseas as they are published in Japan, and Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in print.

The manga inspired a live-action television series that premiered in 2013. A 12-episode television anime adaptation premiered in April 2015, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. The manga has also inspired two OVAs bundled with the 15th and 17th volumes of the manga in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
