Danganronpa 3 premieres on March 2, Girlish Number on March 1

Animax Asia announced on Wednesday that it will air the Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School and Girlish Number anime. The channel is streaming a video for Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School that reveals the anime's air date.

Animax Asia will begin airing both the Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School: Future Arc and Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School: Despair Arc anime on March 2 at 10:00 p.m. GMT +8. The channel will air new episodes every Thursday and Friday in the same time slot. The announcement does not mention which arc will air first in the time slot.

The Danganronpa 3 anime aired as two separate television anime series: Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School: Future Arc and Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School: Despair Arc. Both aired in the same summer season last year, premiering in July.

Both series serve as the conclusion of the "Hope's Peak Academy" series' original story. "Future Arc" focused on the characters from the first game installment, while the "Despair Arc" told the story of the characters of the Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair game. The anime shows what happened to the characters before the events of the game.

Kazutaka Kodaka was in charge of the original scenario concepts and overall supervision for both anime. Rui Komatsuzaki was credited with the original character designs, Seiji Kishi was the chief director, and Daisei Fukuoka directed both anime. Norimitsu Kaihō (School-Live!, Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation) was in charge of the scenario on the project, and animation studio Lerche returned to animate the project. Kazuaki Morita designed the characters for "Despair Arc," and Ryoko Amisaki designed the characters for "Future Arc." Masafumi Takada composed the music.

TRUSTRICK and Maon Kurosaki performed the opening theme to "Future Arc," and TRUSTRICK also performed the ending theme song for "Future Arc." The group binaria performed the opening theme for "Despair Arc," and Megumi Ogata performed the ending theme song "Zettai Kibō Birthday."

Animax Asia aired the Danganronpa The Animation television anime series in November 2015. The anime, which premiered in Japan in summer 2013, is based on Spike Chunsoft's PlayStation Portable/PlayStation Vita game of the same name, the first game in the series.

Girlish Number will begin airing on March 1 at 8:00 p.m. GMT +8. Animax Asia will air double episodes every Wednesday and Thursday in the same time slot.

Animax Asia describes the anime:

College student Chitose Karasuma jumps into the voice acting industry full of dreams, hope, and ambition. But behind the curtains of potential fame and fortune, what is the reality that awaits her? She meets other young, hopeful girls like herself with wildly different personalities and backgrounds along her journey. Gradually, Chitose becomes both friends and competitors with them as they try to find their place in this competitive industry.

The show premiered in Japan in October.

Project GN was credited with the show's original work, Wataru Watari (My youth romantic comedy is wrong as I expected. novel series author) was credited with the original plan and handled the series composition, and QP:flapper designed the original characters. Shota Ibata (episode director for Medaka Box, Kan Colle, The Mystic Archives of Dantalian) directed the anime at diomedéa, and Sumie Kinoshita (The Mystic Archives of Dantalian, +Tic Elder Sister) adapted QP:flapper's character designs for animation. The main female cast — consisting of Sayaka Senbongi, Kaede Hondo, Yui Ishikawa, Eri Suzuki, and Saori Ōnishi — performed both the opening theme song "Bloom," and the ending theme song "Ima wa Mijikashi Yume Miyo Otome," under the group name "Girlish Number."
