Alice & Zouroku Anime's Promo Video Reveals April 2 Premiere

New cast, theme song artists, visual also unveiled for anime based on Tetsuya Imai's manga

The official website for the television anime of Tetsuya Imai's Alice & Zouroku (Alice to Zouroku) manga unveiled a new promotional video, additional cast, a new visual, and the anime's April 2 premiere on Thursday.

Sana: Yes. This is the story of my precious and irreplaceable family.
Text: The New Face Awardee in the 17th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards gets a long-awaited anime adaptation!
Sana: Hey, you. Why don't you make a deal with me? Agree, and anything you wish for will be granted!
Text: A girl with a mysterious power.
Zouroku: Listen! If there's anything I hate, it's twisted things.
Text: A stubborn old man.
Text: On a cold rainy day...
Text: She escaped from the research facility...
Text: And saw the outside for the first time.
Text: And knew warmth for the first time.
Text: Their new everyday life starts now.
Sana and Logo: Alice & Zouroku starts in April 2017
Sana: I like you! You shall be my servant!
Zouroku: Don't. Shout. In the restaurant!

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, and Sun TV on April 2, on BS11 on April 4, and on AT-X on April 7. The first episode's broadcast will be 60 minutes long. The series will also stream on AbemaTV, Bandai Channel, and d Anime Store in Japan.

The new cast includes:

Aki Toyosaki as Sanae Kashimura, Zouroku's granddaughter

Natsumi Fujiwara as Asahi Hinagiri, the older of the twins who also possesses the power of "Alice's Dream"

Akari Kitō as Yonaga Hinagiri, they younger of the twins who also possesses the power of "Alice's Dream"

Ami Koshimizu as Shizuku Ichijō

Houchu Ohtsuka as Ryū Naitō

Yūki Hirose as Noriko Yamada

Mamiko Noto as "Minnie C" Tachibana

Masaya Matsukaze as Kōichi Kitō

Shū Uchida as Cleo

The main cast includes:

Hitomi Ohwada as Sana

Akio Ohtsuka as Zouroku Kashimura

Katsushi Sakurabi (Flying Witch, Lostorage incited WIXOSS, Heaven's Memo Pad) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff. Fumihiko Takayama (Yomigaeru Sora - RESCUE WINGS, Sword of the Stranger, Sweet Blue Flowers) is supervising the series' scripts. The pair previously worked together on the Gunparade March anime. Kazunori Iwakura (Ai Yori Aoshi, Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Sky Girls) is drawing the character designs for animation. TO-MAS (Flip Flappers) is handling the music.

The additional staff includes:

ORESAMA is performing the opening theme song "Wonder Drive." toi toy toi (kotringo edition) is performing the ending theme song "Chant."

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga, and it describes the story:

A group of young girls possess a mysterious power known as "Alice's Dream," which gives them the ability to turn their thoughts into reality. Detained and experimented upon, these youths are locked away in secret until one of them manages to escape. Her name is Sana—a girl with the power to ignore the very laws of physics. When this willful powerhouse crosses paths with a stubborn old man named Zouroku, his carefully-ordered life will never be the same again!

Imai launched the manga in the December 2012 issue of Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Comic Ryū magazine, and Tokuma Shoten published the seventh compiled book volume of the manga in November. The manga won the New Face Award in the 17th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards in 2013.
