Content company Sotsu Co., Ltd. and Singaporean events and marketing agency Sozo Pte. Ltd. announced on Wednesday that both companies will run joint events to bring together their C3 and Anime Festival Asia events in five locations in Asia this year. The events are named "C3 AFA."

It will have events in in Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

The Thailand event will take place at the Siam Paragon in Bangkok on June 10-11. The Indonesia event will take place at the JIEXPO in Jakarta on August 18-20. The Japan event will take place at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba on August 26-27. The Singapore event will take place at the Suntec Convention Center on November 24-26. The Hong Kong event will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibit Centre at a date to be announced.

The event will take the place of both the C3Tokyo event in August, and the regular Anime Festival Asia event in Singapore in November.

SOZO organizes the Anime Festival Asia conventions, which are held annually in Singapore, and has also held events in Bangkok, and Jakarta. It is one of the largest anime and Japanese pop-culture conventions outside Japan. 2015's Anime Festival Asia in Singapore drew 90,669 visitors. Aside from Anime Festival Asia and its attached I Love Anisong label, it also owns JLive Asia, and organizes the Japan Music Festival brand.

Sotsu launched the C3 event in Tokyo in 2000. It was previously also named C3 x Hobby until it was renamed into C3Tokyo in 2016. The event is founded around delivering "Character, culture, and content." The event features many character goods, model kits, and garage kit displays.
