Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Monday that it will stream The Laughing Salesman and the second season of STARMYU as they air in Japan.

The Laughing Salesman (Warau Salesman NEW), the new television anime adaptation of Fujiko Fujio A's (Motoo Abiko) Warau Salesman manga, will stream on Mondays at 11:30 a.m. EDT. The fist episode is now available.

In Japan, the anime will premiered first on TOKYO MX on April 3 at 11:00 p.m., and is also airing on the Yomiuri, BS11, and Animax channels. The series is the third anime in the "Anime no Me" programming block (after Sweetness and Lightning and Trickster).

Hirofumi Ogura (Shin ATASHIn'CHI, Black Butler II, The Knight in the Area) is directing the anime at Shinei Animation. Naohiro Fukushima (Eden of the East, EUREKA SEVEN AO), Asami Ishikawa (Shiki), and Midori Natsu (Feng Shui Academy, Yuruyuri - Happy Go Lily) are writing the scripts. Fujio Suzuki (Midori no Makibao, New Getter Robo) is drawing the character designs and is also the chief animation director. Kouichi Iizuka (Queen Emeraldas, To Heart) is the sound director, while Kōhei Tanaka (Gunbuster, One Piece) is composing the music.

NakamuraEmi will perform the anime's opening theme song "Don't." Junji Takeda will perform the anime's ending theme song "Do-n! Yararechatta Setsu."

The original manga's story revolves around Fukuzō Moguro, who appears before people who are struggling with life, and promises to grant them their desires for free. But his clients often disregard his advice or cheat during the process, whereupon he exacts a heavy price from their lives.

Fujiko Fujio A, one of the creators of Doraemon, debuted the manga in Shogakukan's Big Comic magazine in 1968 with the title Kuroi Salesman (The Black Salesman), and it ran until 1971. The first television anime adaptation ran from 1989 to 1992. The franchise received a live-action television series in 1999. The original voice actor who played Fukuzō in the anime, Tooru Oohira, passed away last April.

The first episode of STARMYU's second season premiered on Monday at 12:00 p.m. EDT. In Japan, the series premiered on April 3 at 24:00 (effectively 12:00 a.m. on April 4) on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS11. It will also air on AT-X.

The 12-episode STARMYU television anime series premiered in Japan in October 2015. Funimation streamed the series as it aired.

Shunsuke Tada (Kuroko's Basketball, Prince of Tennis) directed the series at C-Station (Dragonar Academy), and Sayaka Harada was in charge of the series scripts. Asami Watanabe designed the characters, and Tadako (Arashi's "Love so sweet," "Monster") was responsible for the dance sequences.

The anime project also includes a two-part original video anime (OVA) project. The first OVA, which serves as episode 13 of the anime, shipped last July. The second OVA, which serves as episode 14 of the anime, shipped in September. The anime's stage play adaptation is currently running in Japan.
