Atlus' Radiant Historia, Shin Megami Tensei Remakes, Etrian Mystery Dungeon Sequel Previewed in Video

Nintendo 3DS games ship in Japan this summer, fall

Nintendo began streaming a promotional video on Wednesday for Atlus' upcoming Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology, Sekaiju to Fushigi no Dungeon 2 (Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2), and Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey games for Nintendo 3DS.

Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology will be a full remake of the original Radiant Historia game. The game will include new scenario and ship for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on June 29.

Atlus released the original Radiant Historia role-playing game for the Nintendo DS in Japan in 2010, and in North America in 2011. The story centers on time travel, which is part of the game's mechanics. Players can go back and forward in time to alter story elements and reach many possible endings.

Sekaiju to Fushigi no Dungeon 2 will ship in Japan on August 31. Atlus announced the game and released its first promotional video (above), which shows new job classes and new character Nadika, on March 26.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon is a crossover between the Mystery Dungeon series and the Etrian Odyssey series. Like the Mystery Dungeon game series, the first Etrian Mystery Dungeon features a new random map each time a player enters a dungeon. Players explore with a party of up to four chosen from ten different Etrian Odyssey class types. Exploration is in the third-person perspective, unlike the Etrian Odyssey first-person, and players must control their party group.

The game will get a limited edition 10th Anniversary Box version, which includes a 200-page art book and special box. First printings of the game will include two Etrian Odyssey CDs.

Atlus released the original Etrian Mystery Dungeon game in Japan on March 5, 2015 and Atlus USA released it on April 7, 2015 in North America.

Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey will be a remake of its Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Nintendo DS role-playing game. The game is slated for fall.

The game will use the original game as a base while also adding original content, and the ability to save at any time even while exploring dungeons. The game adds a new ending, and an original character (seen in visual above) voiced by Megumi Han.

The original game shipped in Japan in 2009, and in North America in 2010. In the game's story, a dimensional portal opens in Antarctica, consuming anything it touches and expanding to potentially threaten the Earth. The United Nations sends a task force to investigate the nature of the phenomenon. The player creates and names a character and explores dungeons within the portal. Like many games in the Shin Megami Tensei series, the player explores the dungeons in a first-person perspective, and may bargain with demons to recruit them. The original game had three possible endings.

Atlus announced its 25th anniversary project for the Shin Megami Tensei video game series in January. The official website for the 25th anniversary project later revealed that the project will include a new game for the Nintendo 3DS.

Atlus is also developing a Shin Megami Tensei game for the Nintendo Switch platform as part of the anniversary project.
