Ginban Kishi Manga By Tramps Like Us' Ogawa Approaches Climax

This year's June issue of Kodansha's Kiss magazine is revealing on Tuesday that Yayoi Ogawa's Ginban Kishi (Skating Rink Knight) manga is approaching its climax. The word "climax" written in phonetic katakana often indicates a manga series' final chapter.
Ogawa launched the romantic comedy manga in Kiss in September 2012, and Kodansha published the manga's 10th compiled volume (pictured at right) on February 13. The manga centers on Chitose, a hardworking woman who writes for the health magazine "SASSO." Chitose's childhood friend is famed figure skater Kokoro Kijinami. Chitose knows Kokoro's secret: that he is in truth a hopeless otaku. Kokoro can only land his quad jumps when Chitose is on hand to recite a spell from a magical girl anime titled "Magical Princess Lady Lala," and so Chitose travels together with Kokoro to all his competitions.
Additionally, Ogawa will publish a one-shot manga titled Keiso Joshi: Silicon Girls that is based on Tsutomu Nihei's Blame! manga in the June issue of Kodansha's Shonen Sirius magazine on Wednesday. Ogawa previously published a one-shot manga for Nihei's Knights of Sidonia in 2015.
Tokyopop published Ogawa's previous Kimi wa Pet manga in North America under the name Tramps Like Us. The manga was adapted into a 10-episode live-action television series in Japan in 2003. The manga also inspired a 2011 live-action Korean film starring Jang Geun-suk and Kim Ha-neul.
More recently, the manga inspired a new Japanese live-action television series that premiered in February and had 16 episodes.
