3DS games scheduled for fall 2017, early 2018 in Americas

Atlus USA announced on Wednesday that it will release Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth in the Americas this fall. In addition, it will release the Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology, and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux games in the Americas in early 2018. Etrian Odyssey V and Perfect Chronology will have English audio while Strange Journey Redux will have Japanese audio.

Atlus released Etrian Odyssey V for Nintendo 3DS in Japan on August 8. Like previous installments in the series, the game features dungeon mapping and turn-based battles. There are four races of playable characters and 10 classes.

Shigeo Komori directed the game with character designer Yuji Himukai, sound composer Yūzō Koshiro, and monster designer Shin Nagasawa.

Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology will be a full remake of the original Radiant Historia game, with a new scenario, redesigned character art, new voice-overs, five new tracks from the game's composer Yoko Shimomura, additional difficulty settings, and opening animation by A-1 Pictures. The game will ship for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on June 29.

Atlus released the original Radiant Historia role-playing game for the Nintendo DS in Japan in 2010, and in North America in 2011. The story centers on time travel, which is part of the game's mechanics. Players can go back and forward in time to alter story elements and reach many possible endings.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux (Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey) will be a Nintendo 3DS remake of its Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Nintendo DS role-playing game. The game is slated for fall in Japan.

The game will use the original game as a base while also adding original content, and the ability to save at any time even while exploring dungeons. The game adds a new ending, and an original character Alex (seen in visual above) voiced by Megumi Han.

The original game shipped in Japan in 2009, and in North America in 2010. In the game's story, a dimensional portal opens in Antarctica, consuming anything it touches and expanding to potentially threaten the Earth. The United Nations sends a task force to investigate the nature of the phenomenon. The player creates and names a character and explores dungeons within the portal. Like many games in the Shin Megami Tensei series, the player explores the dungeons in a first-person perspective, and may bargain with demons to recruit them. The original game had three possible endings.

Update: Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux trailer added.
