Aniplus Asia to Simulcast Tsuredure Children, Katsugeki! Tōken Ranbu Anime

Tsuredure Children premieres on July 5, Katsugeki! Tōken Ranbu on July 2

Aniplus-Asia announced on Wednesday and Thursday that it will air simulcasts for the Tsuredure Children and Katsugeki! Tōken Ranbu anime.

Tsuredure Children (Idle Children) will premiere on July 5, and will air every Wednesday at 11:15 p.m. GMT +8. Aniplus-Asia describes the anime:

A high-school romance series depicting various scenarios of adolescent love, jam-packed with frustration, embarrassment, and awkwardness!

The anime will premiere in Japan on July 4 on Tokyo MX at 11:15 p.m., on Sun TV on 12:15 a.m. (effectively July 5 morning), and on BS11 at 2:15 a.m. (effectively July 5 morning). Each episode will be 15 minutes long.

Hiraku Kaneko (The Qwaser of Stigmata, Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, Manyū Hiken-chō) is directing the anime at Studio Gokumi, and Tatsuhiko Urahata (Saki, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, Haganai NEXT) is in charge of the series scripts. Etsuko Sumimoto (Yuri Kuma Arashi) is designing the characters.

Inori Minase is performing the anime's opening theme song "Aimaimoko," and Yui Ogura is performing the ending theme song "Dear."

The four-panel manga is dedicated "to those of you who can't say 'I love you.'" The manga chronicles a series of short school romance stories in an omnibus format.

Wakabayashi launched the manga online in October 2012, and then also began serializing it with new material in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2015. Kodansha published the manga's eighth compiled book volume on June 16.

Katsugeki! Tōken Ranbu (Action Picture! Touken Ranbu) will premiere on July 2, and will air every Sunday at 1:00 a.m. GMT +8 (effectively Monday morning). Aniplus-Asia describes the anime:

The fate of the world is threatened as an army of historical revisionists are sent from the future to alter the course of history. In order to protect the real history, Horikawa Kunihiro and Izuminokami Kanesada – two Sword Warriors brought to life – rush to Edo to confront the invading army, along with a lively gang of other warriors.

The series will premiere in Japan on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV on July 1 at 24:30 (effectively July 2 at 12:30 a.m.) before airing on MBS at 3:08 a.m. The anime will premiere later in the month on Okayama Broadcasting, Kōchi Sunsun TV, and TV Aichi.

Toshiyuki Shirai (Fate/Zero, Tales of Zestiria the X animation director) is directing the series at ufotable. Mitsuru Obunai, Masaru Kimura, and Masayuki Kunihiro are the sword fight animators. Tatsuya Yamamura is in charge of historical research, and Kōgyoku Watanabe is the sword fight supervisor. Hideyuki Fukasawa (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, Flowers of Evil) is composing the music. Sōma Saitō is performing the show's opening theme song "Hikari Tatsu Ame" (The Rain that Cuts the Light), and Kalafina is performing the ending theme song "Hyakka Ryōran" (The Blooming of 100 Fires).

The show has eight character designers, each handling the animation design for a different character:

Honami Tsuda is launching a manga adaptation of the series on July 4 in the August issue of Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine.
