Crunchyroll Streams Gamers!, Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor, Nora, Ikémen Sengoku Anime

posted on by Karen Ressler
Also adds ninth Teekyū season

Crunchyroll announced on Wednesday that it will stream the Gamers!; The Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor; Nora, Princess, and Stray Cat; Ikémen Sengoku: Bromances Across Time; and Teekyu 9 anime as they air in Japan.

Gamers! will premiere streaming on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. EDT. It will be available worldwide outside of Asia. The anime will have 12 episodes.

Sekina Aoi and illustrator Saboten's original romantic comedy light novel series centers on the gaming lives of various high school students who play video games, including: Keita Amano, a lonely young man who loves video games; Karen Tendō, the beautiful president of the video game club; Chiaki Hoshinomori, who constantly fights with Keita; and Tasuku Uehara, who puts on a facade of being satisfied with his life in the real world, but he in truth loves video games.

Manabu Okamoto (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- storyboards and episode director) is directing the anime at Pine Jam. Hiroki Uchida (Ultraman X, Ultraman Orb) is handling the series composition, and Tensho Sato (Fafner, The Devil is a Part-Timer! key animator) is drawing the character designs for animation.

The Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor (Musekinin Galaxy Tylor) began streaming worldwide outside of Asia on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. EDT. The series is the first television anime adaptation of Hitoshi Yoshioka's Uchū Ichi no Musekinin Otoko (The Most Irresponsible Man in Space) novels in 24 years since 1993's The Irresponsible Captain Tylor.

The new story centers on Banjo Ueki Tylor, and is set "beyond the distant future, in the even more distant future." It is long after the United Planets has declined, and the Empire has been destroyed. People have scattered all over the galaxy and lead peaceful lives on various planets. Banjo Tylor works in garbage disposal above the atmosphere of one of these planets, when he comes across a robot ship and finds a girl frozen in ice within. Suddenly, forces that are after the girl begin to activate all throughout the galaxy, as it is revealed that the girl is actually Goza the 168th, the harbinger of the galaxy's doom. Banjo and Goza set out on a journey to revive the United Planets, but nothing goes as planned.

Hiroshi Kimura (Haitai Nanafa, Hamatora, Danchigai) is directing the anime at Animation Studio Seven. Natsuki Kita is designing the characters. Hidekatsu Shibatais the sound director, while Kenji Katoh is composing the music.

The first episode of Nora, Princess, and Stray Cat streamed at 11:15 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, and future episodes will stream on Wednesdays at 10:45 a.m. EDT. The stream is available worldwide outside of Asia.

The anime's story, based on Harukaze's adult visual novel for PC, centers around high school student Nora Handa. One day, on the way to school, Nora meets a girl named Patricia in a park. Patricia says that she is a princess of the underworld, and she has come to the surface world to destroy all life. Nora and Patricia accidentally kiss, and this act turns Nora into a black cat. Patricia takes Nora to her home, and a few days later Nora turns back into a human. However, Nora keeps turning into a cat and back into a human.

Kenshirō Morii (Wake Up, Girl Zoo!, Gakumon! ~Ōkami Shōjo wa Kujikenai~, Anime-Gataris) is directing the anime, and Hato, who wrote the scenario for the visual novel, is writing the scripts. Harukaze is credited with the original work.

Ikémen Sengoku: Bromances Across Time (Ikemen Sengoku: Toki o Kakeru ga Koi wa Hajimaranai) premiered on Crunchyroll on Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. EDT. The stream is available in North America, Central America, and South America.

The anime adapts Cybird's Ikemen Sengoku: Romances Across Time (Ikemen Sengoku: Toki o Kakeru Koi) romance mobile app. Each episode is five minutes long. The comedy anime tells the slapstick everyday life stories of the military commanders of the Warring States period. The anime uses 3D models of the characters in the game. The official website describes the story:

My name is Sasuke. I am a graduate student, but one day I am transported through time into the Warring States period. However, this time period is completely different from what I learned in textbooks...

Cybird is credited with the original work, and Shiro Yamada is credited with the original illustrations. Shigeyuki Watanabe (Prologue of Blame! director, CGI director for Fireball, Hi-sCool! Seha Girls) from TMS Jinni's is directing the anime at both TMS Jinni's and TMS Entertainment. Masayuki Kibe (Hi-sCool! Seha Girls) is handling the series composition, Junko Yamanaka (Ninja Girl & Samurai Master, ReLIFE) is the character designer, and Keisuke Itō from noisycroak is the composer. Takanori Yoshimura is the sound director at Object.

The first episode of Teekyu's ninth season premiered on Crunchyroll at 11:45 a.m. EDT on Wednesday. The stream is available worldwide outside of Asia.

Shin Itagaki is once again directing, writing, storyboarding, and designing the characters for the upcoming season at Millepensee. Yui Watanabe performed the opening theme song "Dream First Sensation!" as her character Yuri Oshimoto, while Earth Star Dream performed the ending theme song "Kaiun! Shōfuku! Entenka" (The Song of Fortune, Good Luck, and the Scorching Heat).

The original manga and the anime both follow the everyday lives of four girls in a high school tennis club — although they hardly play any tennis.
