Kanan Minami's original manga follows girl who gets married at 16

The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Kanan Minami's Miseinen dakedo Kodomo ja Nai (I'm a Minor But I'm Not a Child) manga unveiled a cast visuals and a teaser video on Wednesday.

The film stars Yūna Taira (pictured above) as protagonist Karin Oriyama, Sexy Zone's Kento Nakajima "school prince" Nao Tsurugi, and Hey! Say! JUMP's Yūri Chinen as Karin's childhood friend Isuzu Ebina. A visual showing all three main characters in costume is posted on the film's website.

The film will open in Japan on December 23. Tsutomu Hanabusa is directing the film

Nakajima narrates the video below:

The story centers on 16-year-old high school girl Karin Oriyama. As a present for her 16th birthday, her parents arrange for her to get married to her crush Nao Tsurugi, the "school prince" who gets good grades and excels at sports. However, Nao declares that he does not like her and demands they keep the marriage a secret. Nao slowly seems to warm up to her, but then Karin's childhood friend finds out about their secret marriage.

Minami launched the series in December 2012, and ended the series in February 2016. The manga was on hiatus from April 2014 to August 2015 after Minami gave birth to a daughter. Shortly after the manga resumed, it began a "new series" with the same title, following the main couple on a honeymoon in Hawaii.

Minami's earlier manga series Kyō, Koi o Hajimemasu also inspired a live-action film.
