2015 play bridged stories of anime series, film

Amazon Prime is streaming the Blood-C: The Last Mind stage play with English subtitles. The play is posted in two parts and is listed under the company Ammo Content, which handles encoding, platform delivery, and other services for film distribution.

The play ran at the Setagaya Public Theater from July 2 to 5.

Shutaro Oku (Persona 3, Persona 4, Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena stage plays) directed the play, while Jun'ichi Fujisaku wrote the script. Fujisaku also wrote the scripts for the 2011 television anime. The play tells a new story linking the timeframes of the television series and film.

Amazon describes the play's story:

After the massacre in Ukishima, Saya lost her memory and wanders the slums where she meets Haru, an unlicensed doctor, and Ran, the girl who hunts the Elder Bairns. As her memory returns, she discovers that she had relationships with them both in the past, secret promises made by the Nanahara caln and her arch-nemesis, Fumito. As Sayo tries to rescue kidnapped Haru, she encounters Fumito again.

The Blood-C television anime and film project is a collaboration between manga creation team CLAMP and Production I.G. The story revolves around Saya Kisaragi, a kind and clumsy girl. However, at night, Saya becomes a sword-wielding monster-hunter. A live-action film titled Asura Girl ~Blood-C Ibun~ open in Japan on August 26.

Funimation has licensed and released both the television series and film in North America.
