Shinkai's 'your name.' Is 1st Anime to Place 3 BD Releases in Top 10 for 2 Straight Weeks

Makoto Shinkai's your name. (Kimi no Na wa.) film is the first anime to place three Blu-ray Disc releases in the top 10 of Oricon's overall Blu-ray Disc chart for two weeks in a row.
The film's Standard Edition Blu-ray Disc release (seen right) has sold a total of 227,037 units to rank #1 in the July 24-30 week, and #2 in the July 31-August 6 week. The Blu-ray Disc Collector's Edition 4K Ultra HD release has sold 132,145 units to rank #2 in the July 24-30 week, and #8 in the July 31-August 6 week. The film's Special Edition Blu-ray Disc release has sold 101,370 units to rank #3 in the July 24-30 week, and #7 in the July 31-August 6 week. All three releases debuted on July 26.
Since Oricon began posting Blu-ray Disc ranking charts in 2008, only two other works have placed three different releases in the top 10 for two consecutive weeks: Tron: Legacy in June 2011, and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in November of the same year. This makes your name. the third film to achieve the feat, and the first anime to do so.
In addition, your name.'s Standard Edition DVD release has sold a total of 255,073 copies, and has ranked #1 in Oricon's top 10 overall DVD chart for two straight weeks.
The film has grossed a cumulative 25.03 billion yen (about US$224 million) as of July 25. It remains the #4 highest-earning film of all time on the Japanese box office chart, just below Disney's Frozen at #3 with 25.5 billion yen (about US$229 million).
Box Office Mojo estimates the film's worldwide total at US$354,526,712 as of July 4. The film has earned an estimated US$5,004,629 in the United States and Canada as of July 4.
The film opened in Japan in August 2016, and has become the fourth highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, the second highest-grossing Japanese film, and the second highest-grossing anime film.
The film opened in 92 countries and territories, and earned box-office achievements in South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Taiwan, in addition to Japan.
