Aniplus Asia Streams Bungo Stray Dogs OVA

Aniplus-Asia revealed on Thursday that it has added the Bungo Stray Dogs: Hitori Ayumu ("He Walks Alone") OVA to its video-on-demand service. The company will premiere the OVA on its television channel on August 29 at 11:00 p.m. GMT +8. Aniplus-Asia is also streaming an English-subtitled clip from the OVA.
The OVA shipped in Japan with a limited edition of the manga's 13th compiled book volume on August 4.
The "battle action" story centers around a league of literary figures with supernatural powers. For example, in real life, Ryūnosuke Akutagawa wrote acclaimed stories that inspired Akira Kurosawa's Rashōmon film and the Aoi Bungaku Series anime's Jigoku Hen (Hell Screen) arc. In Bungo Stray Dogs, he has the power to transform and manipulate his cloak into a monster-like entity. Together, some of these writers solve mysteries as part of the "Armed Detective Agency," while others appear as antagonists.
The first 12 episodes of the television anime series aired in April to June 2016, and Aniplus-Asia aired a simulcast of the anime as it aired in Japan. The second season (starting with the 13th episode) premiered last October, and Aniplus-Asia again simulcasted the series.
An anime film titled Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple is slated for early spring 2018.
