Hakumei to Mikochi Anime Reveals 2nd Promo Video, Key Visual

Series about dwarf girls who live in forest premieres on January 12

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Takuto Kashiki's Hakumei to Mikochi: Tiny little life in the woods (Hakumei and Mikochi) manga began streaming the second promotional video and revealed a new key visual for the anime on Friday. The video previews the ending theme song "Harvest Moon Night," performed by Shino Shimoji and Aoi Yūki, who voice Mikochi and Konju.

The website also revealed that the anime will premiere on AT-X on January 12 at 9:00 p.m. In addition, the series will air on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting Co., Ltd., and BS11. The anime will stream in Japan exclusively on Amazon Prime.

The anime will have an advance screening event for the first episode at Toho Cinemas Nihonbashi in Tokyo on December 24. The four main cast members will attend the screening for a talk show.

The show stars:

Risae Matsuda as Hakumei


Shino Shimoji as Mikochi


Aoi Yūki as Konju


Chika Anzai as Sen


Additionally, Masaya Matsukaze will play Iwashi.

Masaomi Andō (School-Live!, Scum's Wish, Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle) is directing the series at studio Lerche. Reiko Yoshida (Violet Evergarden, Tamako Market, Non Non Biyori) is handling the series composition, and Tomoko Iwasa (Kasimasi - Girl Meets Girl, Junod) is both the character designer and prop designer. Iwasa is also the chief animation director alongside Mayuka Itou (Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle). KUSANAGI is handling the background art. Evan Call (Violet Evergarden, Chronos Ruler, Big Order) is composing the music at Lantis. Yūji Higa is the animation producer.

The manga follows the titular characters Hakumei and Mikochi, two nine-centimeter-tall (about 3.5-inch-tall) dwarf girls who live deep in a forest, making their home in the hollow of a tree, using leaves as umbrellas, and riding on the backs of insects and birds.

Kashiki has been serializing the manga in Kadokawa's harta magazine (previously known as Fellows! magazine), and Kadokawa published the fifth compiled book volume of the manga in January. The sixth volume will ship on January 15.
